Blue Screen of Death!
So my old computer [over ten years old!] that I used the most has been replaced by an iMac!
The iMac is a beautiful machine that makes me weep tears of joy everytime I use it!
Now I have given away my old computer to my step daughter to use but I have another old computer, a Sony Vaio, that I use for games and storing my photos. This has been backed up on a external hard drive, the last backup was in October. Trouble is I was getting bugged by M$ Windows update all the time I was on line. I have been informed that it would be best for me to update so Windoze would work properly.
So I did this last week and of course the next time I put on my computer I got the 'Blue Screen of Death'.
Now I did the F8 thing and tried to re-start to a safe configuration but to no avail. The only way may be to re-boot with the M$ Windows XP disc but I have seemed to misplaced it. The trouble is there are photos of my Daughter's party on the computer along with originals of my Furnace 2007 photos.
So what can I do?
Take it into a computer doctor/repair shop?
